Lexie smiled slightly, as he stepped out of the elevator and looked around. It was so long since he'd been here - things in Vegas had taken longer to finish up than he'd thought. But he was here now, and unlike last time, was here to stay. He looked around the people rushing by, wondering whether he'd spot anyone he knew from when he first started at MDPD before being called back, and wondering where Maddy was as she was supposed to be showing him around.

Madison was in the break-room when checked her phone, seeing a text from Lexie informing her he was here. Jumping up, she rushed to the entrance where she knew Lexie was waiting. Seeing her best friend, she launched herself at him with a grin, enveloping him in a bear hug. "Oh my gosh! I've missed you so much!" she told him with a content squeal. "Why didn't you tell me earlier that you were back in Miami?"

He laughed, hugging her back. "I've missed you too, Sunshine," he told her, using one of her nicknames. "And that would've ruined the surprise," he replied with a grin. "It's so much more fun seeing your reaction when I just turn up here for my first shift back without telling you." He wrapped an arm around her shoulders as the two made their way to the break-room slowly. "And Greg and Nick send 'hi's'. They've missed you heaps as well."

Joshua stepped out of the elevater almost apprehensively, as it was his first day her working. Even though he come in once or twice to talk to people before today he still didn't have much of an idea where things were.
Walking around he saw a familer looking brunette chatting to a cute blond guy, he waited for a break in the conversation and then said "Hey Maddy, I thought you worked at the LVPD". He smiled at her and then turned to explain to the blond. "Me and her met at a conference ages back, and after awhile we lost contact with eachother."

Maddy whirled around, and seeing the owner of the voice smiled. "Joshua!" she gave the male a brief hug then looked at him. "What are you doing here?" Then remembering he'd asked her about LVPD, she added, "I did. We both did," she said with a nod towards Lexie. "But then we both transfered out here. Needed a change of scenery, I guess, and getting away from the drama was also great..."

Lexie smiled at the newcomer. Seemed he wasn't the only one who was starting today. "I remember that conference - it was the one I couldn't go to," he said, pulling a slight face. "Supervisor couldn't give me the time off to attend. Are you that New Yorker friend of hers that has helped us with insider info from time to time? Because if so, I'll be the first to say she owes you a few dinners for your help," Lexie told him with a smile. "I'm Lexie," he added, sticking his hand out to Josh.

"Yeah I am, but things happened and I just couldn't stand New York anymore" Joshua responded and felt his face start drooping as he remembered what happened so he changed quickly to a smile back. "Well as Maddison told you I'm Joshua, and unlike her I prefer my full name" he replyed as he shook Lexxie's hand. He then turned to Maddy as if he was considering something, "As you apparently owe me a few dinners, I guess you wouldn't complain if you helped me host a apartment warming party at my place." After asking Maddy that he added while smiling at Lexxie, "I don't really know anybody here apart from you guys so could you both help me by inviting some of our colleagues."

Madison gave a nod, smiling at the suggestion. "Sounds like fun!" she told him with a grin. "I'm pretty sure we can round up some CSIs, throw a lawyer or two in the mix. Maybe an anthropologist..." Suddenly her eyes lit up. "Ooh! Can we have a make-your-own-cocktails bar? That would be the most epic addition to any flat-warming party!"

Lexie nodded too, grinning slightly at Maddy's enthusiasm. "Definitely. It sounds like fun. I'm awesome at making cocktails, so if need be, I'll be your bartender for part of the night," he added with a smile.

"Sure Maddy, invite alomst anyone you want. As long as I'll see them around here-ish at some stage it'll good." Joshua agreed. "The make your own cocktails thing sounds fun, and Lexie thanks for the offer, you can help me find a new favourite drink" he added with a smile.

"So is there anything about the way things work here that are different from the places we came from. I think I learnt enough on our calls about the slight differences between New York and Vegas." He asked them both.

"There's not really that much difference between here and anywhere, really. Well, at least I didn't think so," Maddy replied thoughtfully. "This place is just as insane as Vegas, while still being professional. Except watch out for the ME. He bites," Maddy added with a grin.
