Bio:
Joshua was born 27th of April 1987 in Wellington, New Zealand. His parents moved around Australia while he was growing up only returning home to New Zealand to settle for his final few years of high school. He had a good childhood though moving around quite a bit, being an only child to two working parents made him quite introverted.
One day while leaving school a journalist asked him if he heard about a supposed stabbing at the school that happened the other day, of course news like that while not very common is greatly exaggerated especially as he heard from a friend that morning that it was a fight and someone grabbed a blade off someone and might have cut there hand. So as he didn't want to fan the articles he feigned ignorance and went home.
The incident at school made him think about crimes in general and how they are solved based on evidence and interrogations, and asked a few of his friends about the stabbing eventually learning the key to the fight were a couple of girls in his year. This fanned the flames of his interest in forensic sciences, which when he went to university made him decide to study it, psychology and criminology.
His university career went pretty much uneventful though he was glad as he was able to transfer to New York for the final years of his degree and very pleased that he was able to continue with his archery and started learning to fence. After graduating he managed to get a job at the NYC Crime Lab.
After settling in his new job, he and a lawyer who worked nearby started up a relationship. Over time the relationship kind of fizzled out, as while they both worked separate cases quite often Joshua's lawyer boyfriend would be defending the criminals that he had gathered evidence on, which limited what they were allowed to talk about to each other. Sick of walking on eggshells around him and as their relationship got called into question at court, Joshua decided he needed a break and asked his supervisors if he could have one.
During his holiday he dreaded coming back to New York, as even though they had broken up, his ex-boyfriend still worked near his work so he called up his supervisors and asked for a transfer and was sent to Miami, after his holiday. Once that was settled he enjoyed his holiday seeing more of the world, as he had only seen parts of New Zealand, Australia, New York, and wherever the numerous forensics conferences were that he had attended.
Joshua's only fluent in one language, English. But has at least learnt some of the basic words and phrases in Indonesian, French, and Japanese. His parents live in New Zealand, while his other relatives mainly live in either Australia or New Zealand with a minority whom Joshua never met that lives further afield. In his spare time he practices archery, fencing or his violin.
