"I didn't know you were in a foster home," Maddy said to Mich, feeling sad for her. "But I hope you find something useful about your parents. And if you want any help let me know."

"No, we only had a glass each." She thought for a moment. "There were these two guys at the bar who kept hassling us. At first it was just the regular 'can I buy you drinks?' thing and then it just got out of hand. We kept telling them we're not interested, especially not in coming up to their hotel room with them but they just wouldn't give up. So we left."

She smiled slightly as she heard the pair inside sort of patch things up.

"Ah yeah. We both actually. Along Sam and her twin sis Alexa. And few others we kept being friends. Well there were some other stuff involving Sam's brothers and our Canadian friends. But I have a hunch about our parents as they might be involved into our crash and Ry's debt and gambling thing." Michelle shared her suspicions.

"So just a glass. I think we need to take the bottle to lab for testing. Was the bottle sealed when it arrived to your room?" she asked the questions by the book. At least half work will be done when they finish, she proudly patted herself mentally.
"I also think there should be some cameras around so tapes would be needed as well. Maybe we could find those guys." Mich scribbled down few more notes.

"It would be horrible if they had something to do with it. But I guess just because they're someone's parent doesn't stop them from doing something horrible. I should know..."

"It was open. The room-service guy came up and the glasses had already been poured. I remember Sadie joking that he'd taken all the fun out of popping the cork open. She loved doing that herself all the time." She replied. "And yeah, I'm pretty sure there'll be a bunch of cameras around, so finding them might be easy."

She was silent for a moment and then said with a smile, "Thanks so much for coming over to help. I don't know if I woulda been as ok if some stranger got assigned it."

"Yeah, true. Well there still might be possibility of somebody spiking your drinks. I'll get all the possible tapes to find out." Michelle said dedicated to find everything out.

"No problem, honey, I'm always here if my friends need me. And I know the feeling." Michelle said smiling.

Madison nodded. "To be honest, I think that's the most likely scenario of what happened..." She was silent for a moment. "So, what's gonna happen with me? I mean obviously I can’t work this case, but will IAB have to be dragged into this? I hate those guys..."

"Well looks that way. But as you know evidence first. I'll check for prints and anything that might've left behind. Well if Ryan will let me do that all." she agreed, hoping for her brother and his friendly colleague to give her this fun.
"Well, dunno but for what can I tell, they'll be on your tail. But I'll try to play some trick to delay the process. At least until we prove you didn't do anything. And actually IAB owes me a huge apology and favor. I'm trying to figure out how fast they can jump at you. If I'll manage to get a hold of my friend there you'll be so lucky." girl assured.

Ava was glad that she and Ryan were not fighting anymore, but she was still very mad at him. He had just said that she was insensitive and she had no heart! It was kind of hard to take this from him, one of her best friends. If even her friends thought she was mean and insensitive, how would she expect someone else to think otherwise? She sighed, but kept quiet and did not say a word. She started, along with Ryan, to look for fingerprints, blood spots or anything that could help them with this.

Maddy gave a sigh of relief. "Thanks heaps. I appreciate it," she said to Michelle gratefully. "So shall I wait for you guys to finish up and go to the lab with you? Or you reckon I should just get outta here and head there myself?"

Mich smiled at Madison. She wanted to leave asap herself.

"Um not sure. You're my first victim I get to question on my own so dunno. But I can guess my dear mentor will let me to drive you back to lab with evidence." girl figured.
She walked back into room smiling sheepishly at her brother who seemed buried war axe.

"Hey guys, do you need me here or can I get back to lab with Madison and evidence?" Michelle asked mentally making call to get tapes sent to lab and having some more ideas about the case.

Ryan sighed.
He didn't like fights. Because usually he had more harder to keep his unstable temper in check. This time he got lucky.
But he felt bad for jumping on Ava like that. It felt so unfair, even if she was somewhat insensitive.
But how he managed to loose this again, at work?

He kicked himself hard, mentally. In reality he had to suppress the urge to lunge himself into nearest wall.

He was already about to excuse himself for a moment when his secret saviour angel slipped into room, obviously finished with Madison. Good that he took her with him.

Ryan snapped himself back to reality.

"Yeah you can go, we'll get this done. Thanks."

Hopefully there won't be anything he missed.

Ava let Ryan deal with his sister. After all, he had already told her his opinion on her, so she didn't want to make him say some other stuff. She just continued her work quietly, without looking at them.

Madison left with Mich, looking over her shoulder at Ava and Ryan as the pair left. She hoped the two wouldn't fight any more because she knew how good friends they were and it always sucked when friends fought.
She hoped the rumours wouldn't already be flying when she and Mich got back to the lab.

Ryan watched them leaving and turned back to photographing the scene and looking for evidence.

Suddenly a very sharp pain in his head reminded of his missed meal and medication, and also about the recent fight.

He hissed slightly but kept leaning around.

Ava noticed that Ryan was a bit uncomfortable, and even though she didn't want to care after everything he told her, he couldn't. She put a hand on his arm. "Are you okay?" she asked, her face serious and kind of impersonal.

He wanted to brush it off but the steady ache stayed annoyingly insisting on being exposed.

"Ah..." he still tried but suddenly there was need for him to sit down, "my head hurts. I forgot my meds in the hurry." the stubborn donkey inside him kept kicking at his words.
But he still did it. Yet again admitted that he was in pain.

Mich watched Maddy as they were escorted back to lab.
For some past reason girl didn't trust herself to drive anymore.
Well nothing apart bicycle or bike.


"So, what do think?" Michelle asked matter-of-factly with her expression of curiousness

Ava knelt down near Ryan and grasped his hand. "Do you have them somewhere around?" she asked. At that point, she was concerned. Their fight was not that important anymore.

"No. I forgot them." he tried to make himself to brush it off and keep looking for evidence. But he just couldn't.

No matter how hard he tried to make nothing out of it.
He let the camera slip out of his hands, leaving them limply resting on his lap.
"I screwed this up again." he thanked his headache for keeping him from trashing his head into nearby wall.

One of Ava's hands continued to grasp Ryan's, while the other one went up to his cheek. She shook her head. "No, you didn't," she told him seriously. "Now come on," she said. "Let me take you back."

With a heavy sigh he nodded.
"Maybe not. But still..." Ryan stopped his thought and nodded again.
"Better we do that. Hopefully my migraine meds are in my or Mich's locker."

"Okay," she said, still with a serious, emotionless face. She couldn't forget all the things he had told her, but she also couldn't let him like that. She grabbed his hand and started outside.

He realized they still needed to talk about previous predicament but for now he let her to guide him back to lab.

Ava sped up, not caring that she went way too fast for the Miami law.

"Whoa! You remind me someone with this crazy driving." he said as flashbacks from some other day years ago came up to him.

She didn't smile, but looked over to him for a second. "Really?" she asked. "Who?"
