Ryan just frowned at her. He wasn't quite sure but let it slide.

"Jane. Exactly the person I was looking for." Ryan mumbled.

"Hello, Amber. I'm Patrick. Patrick Jane, consultant here." he gave a firm grip to offered hand and then, as usual the charmer, held it higher and gave a light kiss.
He could literally feel Ryan rolling his eyes at his old fashioned greeting.


Then Jane turned to Maddy and gave her the blinding smile. "Hello my dear. Of course. How could I? I'm the official Wolfe tease here. Besides he owes me one tour around the lab. The special one." he told, putting his arm around Ryan's shoulders

Ryan just rolled his eyes. Of course, he could owe the whole world at that moment. He was always owing something to Jane whenever the blonde find it useful.

"Right. So you can easily join our grand tour, honey." he said to his favourite mockingbird.

Amber blushed slightly as Jane kissed her hand. "Wow, and here I was thinking chivalry had died long ago," she said with a smile. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Jane."

She then turned to Ryan, her mind completely changed. "I think the grand tour would be a good idea."

Maddy grinned when he did that smile of his. "Oh you're so mean to poor Wolfie, here," she teased sweetly.

Patrick grinned. "Oh be surprised. I'm not that monster some might say."

Patrick really liked Amber. She looked gorgeous and he noticed Maddy was looking at her somewhat... intrigued, if he'd found right term of it. Something definately was in the air.


"Oh come on, Miss Fairy, I can't be that bad. Remember that our Pink Parrot can be more meaner than I." he nearly looked over his shoulder. Last time mentioning her caused that foam shower on his head.

"So it looks we're about to have fun. And Amber, don't get offended by Ryan's lil' sissy here. She probably has put some surprises for us by now." Patrick warned newcomer. He really hoped she wouldn't mind Michi's pranks.

Amber had the feeling Madison was watching her, but not in the 'I just met a new co-worker way'. It was certainly very good for her ego, which was already being boosted by Patrick's charming quips. Just to tease Madison a little, she winked at the dark haired beauty.

"You are scoring major brownie points for all men, Mr. Jane," she said with a smirk. "I didn't peg you as the CSI type."

Maddy chuckled when he called her the nickname. "Yes, well you'd better watch out, otherwise our favourite Parrot will get her revenge on you," she told him with a grin.

When Amber winked at her, Maddy couldn't help but blush. What was with her lately? She seemed to be blushing an awful lot. She blamed the environment she worked in - too many gorgeous people worked there. After all, she was only human.

"Aha. That bunch is capable of anything." he said Maddy. And there were still things he couldn't recall from their parties.

"Am I? That's awesome then." he almost blushed when Amber told that. "Well not into science anyways."

Amber raised her eyebrow. Patrick Jane had piqued her interest. "If you aren't a CSI, then what do you do here? You certainly don't look like the detective type either." Amber would know, since she was also a detective. There was something about this man that was quite intruiging, Amber felt like she needed to find out more.

"So, do you all hang out after work or something?" Amber asked as she turned to Madison. "It seems everyone has dirt on everyone," she added with a smirk.

"Well I'm a consultant. I came here from Sacramento. Working with CBI actually. Some calls me psychic. Though I used to be one. I'm not proud about it. I'm just observing, paying attention. One called me 'lie detector'." Patrick told. He spotted Amber's curiousness.

He almost laughed at Amber's last remark. Yeah some really had dirt on someone.

Maddy chuckled at Amber's comment. "Yeah, pretty much. It's all just like a giant family here. Everyone hangs out with everyone when not working, and everyone has some sort of dirt on someone. Though not on me yet," she added the last part more to herself than to anyone, trying to think of whether or not her friends had some dirt on her.

"Whoa whoa. Wait. What dirt?" Ryan frowned at what Maddy said.

"Don't worry Wolfie, I'm sure your dirt aren't that bad to worry about." Jane patted Ryan, shoulder.

Maddy smirked, then assumed an innocent expression. "No, Ry, of course it isn't bad... You have nothing to worry about..."

"See, relax butterfly. Your tipsies are safe. For now." Jane ruffled Ryan's hair.

"Right. And you promise not spill any of my dirt. Yeah like I'm gonna catch that." he bit back with a snort

Madison kept up her innocent face. "Girl Scout's Honour - I promise not to spill any dirt on you here in the lab."

Amber looked at the exchange and shook hee head. Did these people even work? The Miami crime lab had such a good reputation, so she had expected serious, hard working people. She was pleasantly surprised though. These shenanigans kept her from thinking about Gillian and the rest of the life she left behind.

"Tour? Anyone?" She interrupted teasingly.

Maddy turned to Amber when she interrupted. "Yes! Tour! Let's go, Ry!" Then she gave Amber a smile. "We're more serious when it comes to actual work and cases. This is just us in non-case-work time..."

Ryan just rolled his eyes at Madison. He knew how things rolled when his sister peaked in and for sure she'll do that soon enough her case is over.

"Yeah right, tour." he mumbled when girls remembered about upcoming event.

Patrick grinned. "Hey Fairy Princess, if I didn't know who you are I'd guessed you are mind-reader." the smirk played on his lips.

He eyed Amber with playful expression. Sure the newest addition was promising. Observational skills were good enough and something about her made him think Amber wasn't that serious when relaxed. He spotted something like relief and smiled. At least one more person on easy side. But before he let himself lean too much into reading Maddy announced tour and they started to move.

"Now finally Wolfe. I almost feared your brain has gotten stuck in that cute coffee machine. Or was it hallway's vending machine you promised to love forever?" Patrick teased poor man who already looked like his most wanted thing to happen was earth opening and eating him. Yeah being around youngest Wolfe had made him quite sharp-tongued. Not that he wasn't that way before, but this was different. Very different.

Maddy gave him a charming smile. "I'm a quick learner, and I've learned from the best," she told him. "So I guess I can add part-time mind reader to my fairy résumé," she added with a chuckle.

She was tempted to tell Jane not to start doing a reading of the newbie. But she didn't. Instead she just watched the two as she followed Ryan in some vague direction.

"It's definitely the coffee machine," Maddy said with a grin. "Because it makes the best coffees in the lab..." Then seeing how embarrassed Ryan was getting, she went over and gave Patrick a playful smack on the arm. "Ok, that's enough. Leave Wolfie alone."

"Hey, coffee is what makes the world go round," Amber teased, thinking Ryan could use a little help.

She then turned to Madison. "For someone firing so many shots, you don't seem to realize it makes you a target yourself," she said with a wink. Her playful tone gave away she was just playing.

Maddy nodded. "Yes, that it does," she replied with a grin.

She assumed an innocent look. "Me? I wasn't doing anything," she replied, giving a bat of her lashes at Amber.
