Ana and two of her girl's gang friends were at the Park, a portable radio with them and listening to Spanish music as they watched people pass. They had nothing but trouble on their mind and were just looking for a "victim" for their pranks.
Along came a boy at about 10 years old, perfect for their prank, as Ana thought. She nodded to her friends and then started walking towards the man, as her friends walked up behind him, making a circle around him.
"Hey puppy. Does your mamá know you're skipping school?" Ana taunted, being close to the boy.
What Ana didn't know was that a detective was watching them closely and Ana would soon be in a whole different kind of trouble....

the boy looked up at Ana when she said that, "Leave me alone!" he yelled out, at the same time, James, who was siting on a bench in the park, looked over when the boy yelled out, seeing the girls around them, he got up and walked over, the boy's mother was walking over as well

"And why should I do that?" Ana asked in her usual attitute, not seeing the boy's mother, but seeing James.

James watched her, "Because your in a public place and harassing him." he said in reply, at the same time, the boy's mother walked up to her son, "You leave my son alone" she snapped at Ana

Ana took a step back, folding her arms in front of her chest and looked at the mother, then at James and back at the mother.
"You don't tell me what to do. You're his mom not mine." she snapped back. And then she looked at James. "I am far from harassing this puppy. I was just talkin' to him."

"My son is not a dog!" the boy's mother snapped back, James looked at the woman and told her to leave, after she was gone, he looked back at Ava, "You enjoy doing that?" he asked

Ana looked at James, still having her arms crossed on her chest.
"Whatever..." she said, cocking her head a little and turned to walk away.

"Did I say you could leave?" James asked, raising his voice abit at her

Ana turned around, her face angry as she did.
"I go when I want to go. You can't tell me what to do." she hissed at him. At the same time her two friends were already running.

James let them go, at the same time, he pulled his lightweight jacket back abit to reveal his badge, "This says I can" he replied matter of factly

"Mierda!" Ana cursed under her breath. "So what? You arrestin' me for talking to a kid?"

[Mierda! means "crap!"]

James knew what it ment, having heard Natalia say it before, "No, I'm not going to arrest you for that, but I did see your friends smoking what appeared to marijuana." he replied

Ana laughed at that comment. "No way. We don't do drugs." she said.

James watched her, "Then what is in that bag next to your feet?" he asked

Ana didn't even look down. She didn't do drugs, never. She never would even touch that stuff.
"What the hell do I know?! I don't do drugs, ¡burro!" she shot back.

[¡burro! = jackass]

James watched her, knowing what she said to him, "First off, I high suggest you watch your language young lady, in case you have forgotten, your in a family park." he said to her

"And who cares about what a dump Spanish chica says?" she shot back at him. "And it's it's Señorita if at all."

"I care señorita" James replied, "And I'm sure the Spanish speaking families in this park care as well. They are here to relax and have fun, not to hear people using foul language around their kids." he added

"You know nothin' about my language." she countered angrily. "And I don't see any Spanish speaking families here. We're not in Little Havana." she added as a matter of factly.

"Sé mucho acerca de su lenguaje, y simplemente porque no estamos en la Pequeña Habana no te da el derecho a hablar de que manera." James said to her in Spanish


(I know plenty about your language and just because we are not in Little Havana does not give you the right to talk that way)

"No es un crimen, ¿no? No necesito un policía que me dice qué hacer." Ana shot back at James, her eyes sparkling with anger.

[It's not a crime, is it? I don't need some cop telling me what to do.]

"No estoy diciendo que su crimen, pero las personas tienen derecho a salir en público y no escuchar el lenguaje al igual que." James replied, keeping a cool head at the same time


[I'm not saying its a crime, but people have a right to go out in public and not hear language like that]

Now Ana busted out laughing, when he said that.
"You kidding me, cop? You should hear your own people talk, before you lecture me." she said.

"I know how my people talk, but do you see or hear anyone else cussing around little kids here?" James shot back

"Oh yeah, I hear that all the time. Now are we done here, because I don't like wastin' my time..." she snapped.
