Sam smiled
"Really? Oh that's nice of you. I've been working my brains out in hopes to figure. For couple years I was in rehab centre and only few years I'm walking between live ones. Literally." Samanta told.
"Also I'm thinking to change my specialty to one I used to have back in NY. I'm hoping to get a spot here."

Natalia nodded slowly as she listened.
"I can't promise that it'll work and you'll get a place here, but I can put it a good word for you and I've heard you were a great detective once." Natalia replied, slowly walking over to their interrogation rooms, where they could sit and talk.

Michelle watched them through glass. She really hoped to find Alex. She could barely remember the girl but it was no wonder. Her memory was like... Something containing lots of holes.
Yeah, like it helps.

She sighed, rubbing her temples. The terrible headache hadn't left either.
Of course she didn't want another 'episode' right here. It was far enough to get it in parking lot.
She sat down and started digging through her pockets. Finally Mich chased the exact bottle and went for water hunt.
Now she tried to orientate herself towards vending machine. Then girl spotted a figure in the shadows....

Sam smiled "Yeah. I was. Worked with NY's finest. Until one day, during chase with my sister, BOOM!
And I woke up paralyzed and stunned. The news about Alex hit me really hard. Took months to gain some conclusion. Then I ran. Washed up here and started a new chapter, as a journalist. Being detective helped. Interrogation experience mixed with natural talent brought out good interviews. Reports writing did good to my natural hate towards writing. I kinda equalised my police years with modern media. But it's never been my call. I'm cop in my blood, it can't be taken away so easily." Sam fished out water from her bag and took a sip.

"Even though I'm not fit for streets anymore I've bearing some forensics majors. I can be handful here. Michelle soon will be receiving level up. Ryan probably will have to take some time off. Maybe I can give a hand?" she shrugged hoping the boss won't mind spare hand with disability.

As Natalia listened to Sam telling about her plans and hoping to get a job with the lab, she warmed up to her.
"I'm sure that may be possible." Natalia replied after a moment. "But that's Lt. Caine's call as you know."

Ryan was lonely wandering around labs. He was trying to gather courage for talk with H.
The treatment was starting to affect him taking most of his energy.
And adding to that his clumsiness grew more of a problem.

"Damn!" he yelped walking right into vending machine.

Samanta nodded "Yeah of course."

"So. What do you guys need me to tell? Mich wasn't the most precise in her request. She actually called me last night, or better say early morning, screaming into my ear to skip my horseback riding and come over here" Sam explained.

"Well... I'd like to know what exactly happened before the explosion. Whatever you remember. I just want to re-create that event." Natalia told Sam, glancing over at the labs, seeing Ryan who bumped into the vending machine and smirked a bit.

"Feeling too clumsy for daytime? Or wanted extra tips?" Michelle suddenly spoke to young man making him jump and throw his wallet on the floor.
"This thing isn't pooping coins actually." she said mischievously.

Sam nodded.
Then she concentrated on the events of the fateful day...
"It was early morning. I was called out to some robbery-gone-bad scene and Alex joined me. She was the lab girl more than I. We got to the crime scene first, waited for others and documented everything. I gathered info from possible witnesses but Al photographed scene.
Luckily the others came soon and we went out on the street for possible cameras that could've spotted anything. Suddenly there was a man that jumped out of nowhere from behind and fled. Someone called to stop him so we started chase. We chased him few blocks when there was this building. We merely passed the phonebooth beside the building when there was this BOOM and I felt myself flying. Next thing I know is disgusting smell and white ceiling." Sam finished staring at her sneakers and fidgeting with her fingers

"So you woke up in the hospital. This guy... do you know if he had been caught or if he died in that explosion?" Nat asked.

Sam thought for a moment
"I don't know. I forgot to ask then. It took me while to remember everything. But I can ask Michelle to find that out. My guess is that he was caught eventually.
When we were close to that building I don't remember seeing him. He might've been gone by then. And we were only two that moment. The back up got late.
My guess is that guy was the robber who killed the shop's owner but we might've gotten there before he had time to get away so he hid till this chance and then he just took off in hopes to escape.
I don't think he was involved in explosion.
What I know is that my sister was beside me, little behind, on the pavement closer to that building."

Natalia listened to Samantha and then nodded a little.
"And yet it's strange that she wasn't found..." Natalia said quietly, then thought a moment. She had no real idea how Alexandra got away from the scene and wasn't found all these years.

Ryan glared at his sis with a very deadly stare.
She just stood there smirking while he was throwing lightning bolts at her.

"You brought your friend here?" he asked changing subjects

"Yeah I'm helping her to find her sis. Alex is missing and Nat agreed to help me to get this all done. By the way, you told me that you think she's here that day you told about Allie." Michelle said dropping few coins into vending machine as it started her coffee.

Sam shook her head. It was hard to belive the girl could've been somewhere around after all that. She was used to the thought her dear sis is dead and gone. That's what she used to tell everyone. Because she felt like that.
"I know. For years I've been living with the sense of her being dead. Now when he dug it up I feel he might had a point. Maybe she flew different direction and someone took her thinking she's homeless. Maybe she didn't have her id on her. The possibilities are endless. Maybe she was so lost that started to live as a homeless. And perhaps one day she went too far and found herself far from NYC. I keep believing these things are possible. They found Ryan miles away from crash site after all. Of course they were FBI's but still..." Sam slid her hands over her face. She wasn't about to cry, no she was too strong for that. However few tears still managed to break out.

Natalia saw that as she watched the young woman before her. She was determined to find Sam's missing sister. She wanted to believe Ryan's odd feeling and the possibility that she might be alive after all.
"Well, after an explosion like that it's possible that Alex may have lost her memory and if that's not treated it may not return. Even if we shall find her it could be that she doesn't even know who she actually is, or... was." Natalia replied calmy. "We will do everything we can to find her. I'm willing to believe that she might be around here somewhere."

Sam nodded feeling relieved first time in what seemed ages.
"Thank you Natalia. It makes me feel better. They didn't do anything back there. Only person who was there for me was that detective who worked in same precinct. He also worked along the same lab team. Don said they can't do much about that since there was nothing. Somebody destroyed all the cameras around and hacked up the police computers. I believe someone wanted to prove their power, that they're more powerful than all the police force. Then FBI took over and classified everything so we were left out. They never asked statement. Which was really weird. Like they knew about it." Sam said with a certain dose of sadness in her voice. She rubbed her back and winced slightly.
"I believe we altogether will find her eventually" she made a small smile.
"By the way, I think the duo outside are about to separate that vending machine into pieces" Samanta said, never looking around.

Natalia listened then looked over to the vending machine and smirked a bit. "Want to go over to them?"

Sam smiled. She was aware of the boundle at vending machine for a good while now. But she never looked back. Since the explosion her hearing has become sensitive to sounds and vibrations. Kinda good actually.
"I think it's a good idea. Time meet the "crazy duo" ." she said with a smile

Natalia smirked a bit and got up, walked to the door.

"What? You're nuts, sis!" Ryan exclaimed throwing his arms in the air.
"You're unbelievable" he muttered

Natalia smirked a little, watching them.

"Give me that damn coffee!" Ryan screamed at vending machine that had eaten his coins.
Michelle was holding herself so she don't fall laughing.
Ryan kept banging on the coin eating thing

Sam snorted. She tried not to laugh but even hand over her mouth couldn't stop that.
It was so in their style. Bashing over things like that while other tried to break ribs from laughing.
Usually it was Michelle who played pranks on her brother while he was the one who laughed at her own clumsiness.
But they were so connected. Feeling danger before they came. If not the age difference they'd be twins. Maybe they were at some point. Perhaps they were soul-twins.
And they were always for each other no matter what pranks had been played.
Gosh she loved them so much. It didn't matter that they've lost memory, all what mattered was the connection and love between. That made them so close.
Samanta knew this feeling. She was the same with Lex. Despite their differencies they were as same close as was Ryan and Mich.
And they were really close knit family, holding each other, supporting. They had lot of friends.
But only one could sense them same way...
