"It really is a fortunate coincidence, isn't it?" she smiled up at him, passing her arm around his bare waist.

"Or maybe you just decided to perform some Ava voodoo magic to make it like this," he joked. "Should I be worried about your witching abilities?"

Ava chuckled at that, letting her head rest on his shoulder. "You definetly should," she joked, looking at the screen as the movie started.

"You're free to have your coven visit. But at your place, not here," he joked. He brought his hand up to her hair, stroking it gently.

She smiled as she felt his hand stroking her hair. She cuddled closer to him, looking at the screen.

This was sweet, Victor thought to himself with a smile. A really romantic day this had turned into. He felt wonderful sitting here with Ava, relaxed, calm. Around her he didn't have to pretend to be someone he wasn't. Not that he did that much anyway, but with her all pretences just fell. He kissed the top of her head, watching the movie for a moment.

Ava smiled to herself. Usually, she was not a romantic and she actually disliked cheesy things. But this one time, this time with Victor, it was different. It was like around him, she was a whole different person and she actually enjoyed this change. She had always been the tough, sarcastic one but now, it feel good to be different.

"I can't beleive I managed to make you come out of the romance-closet," Victor joked quietly. "Didn't I tell you once that it was in you all along...? It's rather sweet..."

Ava smiled softly, shifting just a bit, so she was looking right into his eyes. "If you keep talking, you might make me go back into the romance-closet," she joked, raising an eyebrow.

Victor pretended to frown. "But what's the fun in that? It'd mean I wouldn't get to do insane cheesy things that'll make you smile..."

Ava chuckled at that, then placed a small peck on the tip of his nose. "That's true," she smiled up at him.

"And how else am I supposed to make you smile if I can't send 4 dozen roses to your work?" he joked, smiling when she kissed his nose.

Ava chuckled a bit, shaking her head. "Oh gosh, that would make my day at work really difficult," she smiled. "My coworkers would probably be all over me all day long."

Victor chuckled. "Fine, I guess 4 dozen is a bit much. I'll just send you 2. Enough to make you blush and smile, not enough for you to get embarrassed or for your colleagues to think you have some insane crazy stalker," he replied mischievously.

Ava chuckled again, shaking her head. "How do you know I will blush? I don't blush as often as you think," she said, raising an eyebrow.

"Well, you blush around me - that's a start," he shot back with a grin. "But no, you're right, you shouldn't blush. If you did it would raise way too many questions."

"I don't blush around you," she defended herself, probably blushing right at that moment. "You think I do, because you are a narcissist and you think everyone who sees you falls for you," she joked, a grin starting to form on her face.

Victor laughed. He enjoyed her feistiness when she got wound up or defensive. "No, I think you do because I see that you do. As a CSI you're trained to gather evidence, and so I present to you my evidence on the case of Ava-Smith-blushing," he teased back. "And I am not a narcissist," he added lamely.

Ava laughed at his words. "Oh, grow up," she smiled up at him. "You are a narcissist, why don't you just face it? I am a narcissist myself and I'm not afraid to admit it," she shrugged.

Victor rolled his eyes slightly, but the smile never left his face. "Ok, maybe I am. But just a bit. And it's not something you can help," he added in mock seriousness. "It's a very serious condition. Thank goodness we have each other to help through this difficult time."

Ava laughed again, looking up at him. "Yeah," she grinned, placing a small kiss on his lips. "Being a narcissist is never easy."

"It's ok, you have me here. I'll help you survive," he told her, still serious before grinning. Placing a hand at the back of her neck, he brought his lips to hers, kissing her softly.

Ava smiled into the kiss, bringing her palm up to his cheek. In all honesty, she had never expected her to feel like that and act like that towards anyone, but it seemed like there really was a start for anything.

The movie played in the background, forgotten as the two kissed. Victor couldn't explain just how much he adored and loved her. Love was never something he did. After several heart-breaks he'd had enough and vowed never again. Why do the love thing when you can just have fun? But being with Ava felt so wonderful, so right.

Ava's hand rested on his cheek, while her other arm went around his neck. She could hear screams and groans in the background, sign that the horror movie had started. When the need of air became impossible to ignore, she broke the kiss. She looked up into his eyes, a sincere smile appearing on her lips.
